March 10th PPC Meeting

Hello everyone Great turn out for Lynn Boutte's Lighting and posing class! Lynn thank you so much for opening your doors and letting us into your beautiful studio with a $2000.00 DOLLAR A MONTH HEATING BILL! ;0) For thous of you that could not make it you all missed a good one but that's OK we hope to see ya at the next one! Now, you just CAN NOT afford to miss next month with Fuzzy Duenkel! Yes that's right Fuzzy Duenkel!!!! More to come on that later.

Now for thous of you that missed, Lynn went over basic Lighting and Posing. as far as lighting goes it was a very simple lighting set up three lights and a reflector. one light with a large 4x6 foot soft box for a main light, a 10"x 36" strip soft box for a Hair light, a background light with a 20 degree grid on it, and finally a 40"x 73" white Panel reflector for a fill.

that was the basic set up then Lynn talked about how to properly light a person with that lighting set up using a technique that he had picked up from John Woodward. Using facial analyzing to determine the best side to light the face from. See the image below.

Now by looking at this image and analyzing her face if you were to draw a line through the corners of her eyes and the corners of her lips the side that the lines would converge on or meet on would be the side of the face to light because, this "evens out" the features on the individuals face. For Her you would light from the Camera left or her right side.

This is just a little sliver of the pie that Lynn went over. If you would like to get more info please post your comments in the comments section and we will try our best to respond A.S.A.P.

Thanks and happy creating!
P.S. Images from the meeting soon to be posted.
